What are the guidelines for open fires?
Light open fires only in designated fire-pits and use only the wood provided. Do not burn rubbish such as tins, bottles, plastic, or foil. Never leave a fire unattended and douse it with water until completely out when you leave your campsite. We recommend having an alternative cooking facility in case of a fire ban.
Where can I camp at West Kunderang?
Camp only in designated campsites, each equipped with a toilet, picnic table, sink, and fire-pit. Open fires are permitted only in designated fire-pits, and firewood is provided. Please use only the wood provided and keep rubbish out of the firepits.
Is there internet or mobile service at West Kunderang?
No, there is no internet or mobile service at West Kunderang. Disconnect and enjoy the natural surroundings without digital interruptions. In case of an emergency, a satellite phone is available for use.
Are there any guidelines for fishing at West Kunderang?
Yes, fishing is permitted at West Kunderang. However, you must have a valid NSW recreational fishing licence and observe all legal sizes, bag, and possession limits. We encourage catch and release and the use of barbless hooks. Fishing Licences are available from Service NSW via this link: https://www.service.nsw.gov.au/services/recreational-fishing-licence. Please ensure you have a valid fishing licence before entering West Kunderang.
How do I access West Kunderang?
Access is via a locked gate. After confirming your registration and payment, you'll receive a gate code and instructions the night before your arrival. Please note that the property is accessible by 4WD only. See our Location page for more details.
Can I bring my pet to West Kunderang?
Please ask before bringing your pet. Pets may not be allowed during certain times due to station management practices. If permitted, pets must be leashed/caged and supervised, especially at feeding times. Clean up after your pets.
What is the procedure in case of an emergency?
A satellite phone is available for emergencies and is located at the Cabin. It is blocked for outgoing calls except for emergency numbers.
Are generators allowed at West Kunderang?
Generators are not allowed, except for medical reasons.
Do I need a 4WD make it to the campsites?
Yes, a 4WD vehicle is required to access the campsites at West Kunderang. The terrain is steep and includes purpose-built drains, making it unsuitable for non-4WD vehicles.
What should I do with my rubbish?
Recycle your rubbish and take it out with you. Wash up in the sinks provided and spread washing water at least 50 metres from a watercourse. Boil drinking water for at least 5-10 minutes before use.
Are there any restrictions on horse riding and shooting?
Horse riding is restricted to cattle mustering activities only. No private horse riding or shooting is allowed on the property.
